Functional Polymers & Advanced Materials (FPAM) Lab

Research Focus: Functional Polymers & Advanced Materials

Research Areas:

1) High-Performance Processing of Polymer Materials: By precisely controlling external conditions during processing, the crystallization behavior and morphological structure of polymers are regulated, establishing the intrinsic relationship between processing, structure, and performance. This provides a solid theoretical foundation for optimizing the performance of polymer materials in high-end applications.

2) Innovative Design of Functional Composite Materials: Through the meticulous design and regulation of nanofiller networks, polymer nanocomposites with special nanofiller network structures have been developed, demonstrating a variety of outstanding functionalities. This opens up new avenues for the innovative application of polymer-based composite materials.

3) Phase Control and Applications in Multiphase and Multicomponent Systems: Based on the interface-controlled synthesis of novel nanomaterials, the phase structure of polymer multiphase systems is precisely controlled, with in-depth studies on the characteristics and interactions of phase interfaces. The potential applications of these systems in nanotriboelectric generators, water electrolysis for hydrogen production, biomedicine, and radiative cooling are explored.

4) Development of Lightweight, High-Strength, Multifunctional Polymer Foamed Materials: Utilizing supercritical CO? foaming technology, the microstructure of foams is optimized by adjusting foaming conditions. High-performance foamed materials with multifunctional properties, such as conductivity, electromagnetic shielding, thermal insulation, and electrical insulation, have been successfully developed to meet the diverse needs of advanced materials.

5) Recycling and High-Value Utilization of Waste: Efficient recycling and high-value utilization technologies are developed for waste materials such as plastics, electronic products, and lithium batteries, promoting their application in material regeneration and resource circulation, thereby achieving sustainable development goals.
